Attention Sydney dancers – it’s time to bring your A-game!

Beat Breakdown is back with a brand new season of 1v1 dance battles, featuring a mix of styles and some serious talent, all happening on the Darling Harbour dance floor from March 6 to April 3.

Whether you’re a master at breaking, popping, dancehall, or waacking, this is your chance to showcase your skills, win incredible prizes and impress the crowd.

Dance styles: Every week in March will feature a different style. To kick it all of we are starting with Breaking - the dynamic, acrobatic street style rooted in hip-hop culture originating from 1980's New York. The top two performers from Breaking will move on to the final Beat Breakdown to take their shot at the All Star Battle on April 3.

Special guests include Australian Bgirl star Holy Molly, Breaking legends Bboy Lowe and Taz in collaboration with local legends, DanceKool – the pioneering street dance studio.

Battle Schedule
5.30pm: Dancer registrations
6.00pm: Showcase
6.10pm: Prelims (1 x 45 sec per dancer)
7.00pm: Showcase / DJ Break
7.15pm: Top 16 (2 x 45 sec per dancer)
7.45pm: Judges Showcase
7.50pm: Top 8 (2 x 45 sec per dancer)
8.30pm: DJ Break
8.40pm: Top 4 (2 x 45 sec per dancer)
8.50pm: Finals (2 x 45 sec per dancer)
9.00pm: Winner announced / event concludes

*Spots are capped at 32 per battle, so if you miss out on registration, you’ll be added to the waitlist. Available spots are subject to change. Participants must be over 16 to enter (participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).

Prizes

• Winner: A prize pack valued at $300 AUD ($200 IMAX voucher and $100 Darling Quarter dining voucher)

• Runner Up: A prize pack valued at $150 AUD ($100 IMAX voucher and $50 Darling Quarter dining voucher)
